Cozy in the Bosom of the Bypass.

Here outside the cities, the narrow highways that connected main street to main street are finally being replaced by modern four-lane freeways that curl around and cradle, but never enter, the small towns they pass by.  These new roads are wonderful to drive on; the small towns are no longer impediments to through travel, just hazy clumps of trees and houses enjoying their repose, sliding past in the distance.  Life is more efficient but more remote.Places we used to visit more often and intimately have become more distant.  Thus the subject of this project: the small towns, waiting in beady-eyed loneliness, cozy in the bosom of the bypass.
